In a surprise move, Venezuela forcibly took control of some bakeries that it accuses of an economic "price fixing" which undermines the government.

No word if the Venezuelans' version of the ACLU will come to the rescue in the dictatorship led country.

To some, the word 'socialism' means authoritarian.

Socialism that rewards good decisions works great, see FDR's New Deal. Socialism that rewards bad decisions and promises everyone free stuff will fail.

Most Americans have hardly a decent understanding of what Socialism really is.

It seems like the arguments always descend to a 4th grade level.

Socialism works for small, extremely rich countries that are cold. Norway is a good example of how socialism is not a bad thing for certain countries.

It didn't work in Venezuela because it is not like Norway.

I personally think Wyoming, North Dakota and Alaska have socialist level of government revenues that consider them a bit socialistic compared to the rest of the country but it sort of works well because they tiny states that have huge amounts of natural and/or agricultural wealth and people there have a strong work ethic.

Socialism would not work for most of the United States as a whole. The United States would have many, many more people not really trying at all if it were to be socialistic.

there is nothing in the USA that is even vaguely like socialism.

Socialism is pretty much exactly NOT the US, please just get this through your heads. We have a capitalist country with controls that protect the status quo. So capitalist but NOT free market.
