"Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson ruled out on Friday opening any negotiation with North Korea to freeze its nuclear and missile programs and said for the first time that the Trump administration might be forced to take pre-emptive action “if they elevate the threat of their weapons program” to an unacceptable level.

Given Tillerson's recent comments, would you support war with N. Korea and if so why or why not? I'm torn on this because I know that while N. Korea needs to be stopped, China will get in on the action...

No.

Why we are so entrenched in Korea is a mystery to me.

IMHO, having that huge military presence on the border only helps support the North's leadership.

Let's see here, Vietnam fell and South Korea didn't. How did that work out in the long run?

Absolutely not. South Koreans can take care of themselves. Bring 'em all home. When I was there in 2001 South Korean students were in the streets "protesting" by tearing up a giant American flag. We should oblige them and GTFO.

I thought Trump wasn't a neoconservative.

I say yes, but do it swiftly.

Do a "Harry Truman" and get the hell out.
Wipe NK off the planet once and for all.

Bob.

No.

I'm tired of Americans having to pay for the rest of the world's issues (directly or indirectly by getting involved in any way).

C'mon! Did you see what they did to The White House in "Olympus Has Fallen?" We should at least make them pay for the damage.

But seriously, no.

No. South Korea has double the population of the North and about ten times the economy, but yet our troops are still on its frontline. It's well past time to let the south fret over the North.

Let's see.

Well, we trade with Vietnam now, something we of course could have done without ever starting that long, inane, asinine, bloody, wasteful war of choice.

What I have yet to hear a good explanation of is given the combined land mass and populations of China and the USSR at the time, what Joe's disciples viewed as the scourge of the earth , is WHY we were supposed to believe that adding the land mass/population of South Vietnam or all of SE Asia for that matter to that scourge would represent any kind of significantly increased threat to the US?

I voted for undecided because it depends on the circumstances. If North Korea were to attack South Korea? Then I would support military action to eliminate the threat. Are we unilaterally starting a war to boost Trump's poll numbers (ala "Wag the Dog")? Then heck no. We've been involved in enough pointless wars, American boys and girls should not have to come home in boxes to feed the Orange Buffoon's ego.
