No protections when I had federal student loans.

SO what if the law was different 5-10 or even 18 mo ago---
This reversal is just another sign that Trump stands for special interests and big business and has no desire to support the lives of average people
The people who voted for him who THROUGHT he was a populist who would HELP and empower working class Americans were just snookered...
And I am hoping they get really, really angry before the '18 elections because Trump has no intention of changing into a real populist...

I don't recall President Trump making many, if any, promises regarding student loans.

as always - things are taken out of context. read the letter cited and you will see that they want public comment on this VS. guidance from the administration. and it applies to only some student loans not all.

lest we forget that it was the Clintons who made student loans non-dischargeable in bankruptcy as a gift to wall street.

personally I think the banks need to be clipped - not consumers.

Things have been getting worse and worse for student loan borrowers for a while now.

In 2015 they literally changed the law such that debt collectors that are assigned defaulted government-backed student loans can now call the debtor as much as they want with no fear of reprecussions.

Millennials are mostly blissfully unaware of any of these hidden changes

I'm glad I've paid mine off and am no longer subject to that crap, I'll NEVER take out a student loan ever again - live and learn

And it was Obama who removed the banks from the federal student loan programs, introduced better income based repayment plans, and student loan forgiveness for people working in fields like teaching, social work and nursing. Hillary Clinton is not the POTUS, nor has she ever been. Bill Clinton was in the White House an entire generation ago. I don't know why you're right wingers are so obsessed with the Clintons.

This is about your guy and the way HIS policies will negatively impact the American people.
