Trump's budget proposal includes a 12% cut to the Coast Guard. How will they take care of the maritime borders with fewer staff and resources?
Wrong! Only 40% are visa over stayers. 60% are border jumpers. We need a system in place to track visa holders no one has said that a wall will stop them, geesh. However, the wall would help impede the border jumpers. Cutting some funds to the Coast Guard does not mean that they can't maintain the level of security that they do now. Ever heard of trimming the fat? Trump is going to trim the fat off of many programs and it's about time a president had the guts to do so. We need to get our deficit down. You can't spend more than you take in. It's elementary.

In all fairness, the Great Wall of China is a wonder of the modern world and a profitable tourist attraction. Who knows? Trump's folly may become an economic generator.

Merkel and Steve McQueen know..... walls only work when they have trip wires, a no-man's land on both sides, machine gun towers, guard dogs, and are more than 6 feet deep.

"The great wall of Trump! It'll be yuuuge!! It'll be the most beautiful, believe me, the most beautiful wall. Everyone will love it. They'll come from miles, from thousands of miles away to see it!"

Perhaps, but the slightest bump in the road discourages 90% of joy riders. You then have time and resources to deal with the hardcore 10%. Oh, the wall is still on the drawing board. You can always add mine fields later.

It won't. People die from cancer too. How is penicillin going to cure cancer? Now, what you are raising is a great point and I haven't seen an answer. Once someone is in, it is virtually impossible to find them again. You can always go after the person who filed the affidavit of support for them but they cannot be held liable for their whereabouts. Maybe a hi tech solution through smart phones. You could ask them to post a bond. That would get them back fast, or would it?

All the wall we will ever see there, is already in place. Congress is not going to give Trump a nickel, for anything more.

Great..You are on record for decreasing security of your shores.. just to build a wall that will NOT stop a fly nor a Bee nor any people... They says and business's who bring in foreigners to do work they claim can't do the job ( Corporate Big Funders) who overstay work visa's. Don't blame those Who benefit from Trump's defending... NOOOOO Don't blame the Market Place who lobby for such legal import of foreigners to do jobs at a fraction of norm's to do a job American could do along with ZERO accountability for how these workers enter and MUST Leave after contract... Let's face it.. Seeking cheaper labour is causing "Illegals" not just those coming over the border!!

LOL..Great Wall of China didn't work either.. BUT most (including Trump) have zero recollection much less knowledge of HISTORY... IF History isn't learned.. then it's doomed to be repeated.. Course, Trump is maybe mentality impaired and unable to recall such details... SMH!!
