It has gotten worse and worse for 100 years, ever since Woodrow Wilson ushered in a fourth branch of government called the Administrative State.
Today the Administrative State consists of a blizzard of agencies and bureaus, all acting independently of the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative branches, but each claiming the authority of one branch or the other. Immune to elections and supported by media, the Administrative State is used by the more powerful of the politicians to force their never-ending will on the entire US population.
Trump's defunding of EPA, Department of Education, and others has begun, and in that way the deconstruction of this state has begun.
I wish him well. If he succeeds we will all go back to be governed by three branches of government instead of four.
