As always, with tRUMP, it's due to a personal slight. He's a small-minded man-child who can't take a joke.

Sesame Street has parodied tRUMP as Ronald Grump. Here's some hilarious footage. And yes, that's Joe Pesci playing Ronald Grump.

I read that article last night. However, it seems hard to believe that President Trump would be so petty as to target NPR because of a children's television show.

Of course, Republicans have been targeting NPR for a long time; I certainly recall it being an issue during the Reagan years.

So, on the one hand, NPR has long been a target of Republicans. Yet, on the other hand, President Trump is famous for being thin-skinned.

On balance, I would choose to believe that it is happenstance, and that NPR funding would have been targeted even if Sesame Street had never lampooned Mr. Trump.

Well, while it does seem farfetched, Trump does have a thin skin and is very vindictive. Tie that into the fact that he also probably watches children's shows as his main entertainment, and it might be true.

One thing is certain, he has no understanding or love of the arts, culture, or programs to entertain and teach others. He sees them as frivolous wastes of money, so watch out National Parks and Museums, he is coming for you.

what's the 'real reason' for NPR budget cuts, then?

To explain:
The line item in the budget is the CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting).

CPB's main components are its television portion, PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) and its radio portion, NPR (National Public Radio).

I would think he would be more upset at the PBS News Hour--While they are balanced..for the most part..in their reportage..the editorial comments of David Brooks have, no doubt, gotten under the famous thin skin.
