Nonsense.

25 Democrat Senators are up for reelection in 2018 vs. 8 Republicans.

And while all 8 Republican seats are safe, three Democrat incumbents are in races that could go either way.

Of course the House of Representatives is also safe.

2018 is a Republican lay-up.

Yes, you do. You just put a "t" in front of it, as if it's supposed to be clever or something.

You didn't, but many (very many) Democrats did. Just check some posts here at C-D before the election.

Some mainstream republicans said Trump was a good candidate, and look what they got. A clown.
That is an opinion, not a fact.

Ahhh, you beat me to it. I only read a couple of pages in before making my post, and your post above ^^^^^ is on page 6.

Impeachable offences are treason, bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors.

"Other" in this context indicates that the offence would be comparable to treason and bribery.

In other words, the offense would need to be official misconduct detrimental to the country or abandonment of presidential duties.

Nixon conducting a cover-up related to misconduct in an election and using the power of his office to go after political enemies is an easy call.

Clinton lying under oath is as easy to call.

It is certainly a serious crime, but it's probably not as serious as treason or bribery.

Of course Hillary and Obama should have both been impeached (see Nixon).

Trump doesn't appear to have done anything impeachable (or even illegal), so unless there is something new to this story, he'll serve eight years and go down in history as one of our greatest presidents.

Actually, careful analysis reveals that I spell it with a lower case t followed by a capital R. tRump, not rump.

It IS clever!

A quick survey reveals that 58% approve, while 37% disapprove.

I report. You decide.

He was the only candidate with a lonnnng reputation of honesty and decency, and I know several other conservatives who also wanted Bernie. Both Clinton and Trump could not even be considered, since both are total SCUM!

But then in the end, he went Belly-up, and sold out, so what more does it take to prove that decency and American politics cannot coexist?

Don't assume all are safe. NV and AZ are battleground states now. Combined with the blowback of the Women's March and increased progressive activism, don't count your chickens so fast. This isn't any normal political era.

It seems to be the thing to call for -- didn't they call for Obama to be impeached.

Fantasy.
