so let me get this straight - you think that the 2 "officials" should have gone to Trump or one of the members of his team and told them directly - and have them come out and say they had received evidence? is that what you think should have happened?
Dont forget this all happened because Trump tweeted a lie
Tweeted a lie to deflect from Preet Bharara and Flynn and Sessions (being under investigation at NY AG office for insider trading)
Any "proof" was to come from the NSA (wasn't that deadline today? No it's tomorrow - Friday) so I'm not quite sure what the dog-and-pony show concerning the NSC documents is about other than to FINALLY share with fellow intel committee chiefs. And, more - what about that NSA proof? Might we forget about it?
More, is it a coincidence that the WH sent a letter to Congressional intel committee chiefs offering a show-and-tell a "few hours" before the NYT story hit? The press briefing was about 25 minutes late starting.
One cannot help but wonder if the WH was caught short by the Nunes bumbling and the NYT reveal so they are rolling the dice with whatever they have.
While Trump is busy trying to distract the American public the Russians are busy trying to dangle stuff in front of Trump to further egg him on. Great fun for the Russians this all is.
And - I kid you not,
Testimony today before the Congressional Committee that IS doing some productive work here - the Senate Intel - has the Russians try to gauge when Trump might be "available" online to plant stuff to send him off on tangents. Unbelievable. But it's what you get when you elect a reality show host with a taste for conspiracy theories.

Well they certainly could have rather than creating this debacle. Nunes could have simply asked them to appear before the committee or had them disclose the information to his appropriate cabinet member or the FBI.
They didn't just "receive" evidence, they were working rather hard going through the secret files looking for a ray of hope to defend Trumps statement, is that what we really want from our intelligence community. They should be protecting our country not getting involved in political statements.
This gets better. Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence at the National Security Council, one of the guys who gave Nunes the info, is an acolyte of Flynn, who McMasters wanted to fire after Flynn left.
Trump overruled him and insisted he stay. Trump has horrible judgment in people.
I told my wife last week that the whole Nunes - White House fiasco was a complete set-up to distract from tRump's psychotic Obama "wiretapping" episode and his unfolding Russia scandal.
Nunes was used as a pawn by the WH. Now Nunes' political career is over.
Question: Who instructed Nunes and let him in, etc. It's unlikely Nunes did that all by himself, so who would have known and been able to orchestrate that?
