I'm not sure where you or anyone would get the idea that people who voted for him felt that way. He promised to repeal and replace Obamacare with something better that would cover everyone. That has nothing to do with race or urban or rural. So quick to point to racism but there is no evidence of that.
I didn't say anything about racism...lol
I said that those people who voted for Trump who are poor white conservatives believe that they "deserve" to be on Medicaid because they are "hardworking" and they are "different" from urban minorities (and whites but rarely are urban whites discussed who are poor unfortunately) who many believe are shirking the system.
I know a lot of these people and they really do feel that way - that they are "better" or "different" even though they are in the same predicament.
Also, I think they were dumb enough to believe that they personally wouldn't be affected by a repeal or replacement of Obamacare. They WERE dumb to think they would get "something better" especially when no details of that "something better" was ever discussed by Trump. As stated, I'll laugh at them when they lose healthcare. Though I doubt that the GOP representatives and senators in office in these states that accepted the Medicaid expansion will allow that to occur. Here in Ohio there has been many people who voted for Trump who didn't think they would be affected. They were dumb. They thought they were "different" from the urban communities who they label negatively based on political affiliation. That is what my comment was about. Not racism. Quit thinking everything is about racism. You are too racial focused IMO.
Yep that's the problem with all politicians. Long on rhetoric and making everyone feel good, totally lacking when it comes to hammering out concrete details and actually making something work. After all as Donald Trump noted, health care is very complicated. You see that with every health care bill, ACA and now this Trumpcare bill. It will be a bloated incomprehensible mess at the end of the day.
Still think the best bet would have been to extend Medicare for these coverages (call it part "F" or something). It is much better vetted, already has a well defined structure in place, and could easily be extended and tweaked to accomplish everything that ACA did. The only reason Obama did not do that, and the only reason Trump will not do that, is that politically it's undesirable to appear to expand Medicare - even though that would be far cheaper and less complicated in the long run.
The illegals will probably get better care back in Mexico after Trump deports them. Will Americans still be allowed to travel south of the border for health care after the Great Wall of Trump is built? Cause if this Trumpcare passes, they'll need to.
I sometimes have occasion to go to China. They actually do not have a comprehensive medical care system since the market reforms, but they have plenty of professionals needing clients. Costs seem to be very reasonable. I have had dental work done there.
My bill for a root canal and cap was less than my deductible would have been in the USA under my employers plan. I would definitely go to Mexico or Canada for medical treatments if it costs less.

When Medicare denied my dad treatment, he was going to go overseas to have it done. The only problem with that is, any complications after the surgery. Medicare denied records transfer to the overseas doctor. and then sent my dad a letter that he would be prosecuted if he went outside Medicare to obtain treatment.
They need to repeal Obamacare completely first, then... they can talk about how they want to improve the system. That way, we don't continue to get screwed by that stupid law and its socialist BS.

Everyone knows what "urban" represents. You are the one bringing it up. He promised a good healthcare plan for everyone, not just white rural republicans. If you laugh at them losing coverage remember plenty of people who did not support Trump will suffer too. Not so funny then unless you really don't care about people in general.
Gotta laugh at these liberals who are so anxious to see the Republicans "fail" that they scream with glee when a bill fails.
They ignore the fact that it failed because it was not conservative enough.
What will they do when they see the final version?
True. No one really likes TrumpCare. Conservatives don't like it because it's mostly just ObamaCare and the only real change is it shifts the welfare from the poor to the wealthier. Liberals don't like it because it shifts the welfare from the poor to the wealthier.
I mean, it'd be fantastic for me personally but I think it's a terrible bill. It fixes almost none of the problems with ObamaCare and just takes welfare from poorer people to give welfare to wealthier people. Since I'm not poor enough to get any welfare for my ObamaCare, I'd obviously do much better as I'd be given welfare with TrumpCare but I really doesn't get the point of why someone in my income bracket needs to be given welfare. If they just took away the welfare rather than shift it from people who can't afford insurance without it to people who can afford insurance without it, I'd actually be more supportive of it. Pretty pointless giving people earning solidly middle-class incomes welfare when the country is going broke.

Exactly.
They "deserve" their disability benefits, subsidized housing, Food Stamps, TANF benefits, etc.
But the rest are lazy moochers.
