I watched Ryan's presentation on C-SPAN, and his proposal to cover those with costly pre-existing conditions was to utilize the States' high risk insurance pools, which already existed, and require them to cover ongoing medical expenses for pre-existing conditions while providing government subsidies to help cut the costs of that insurance for the insured.
That removes those who are costly to insure from the main insurance pool, which then reduces the cost of insurance premiums/deductibles for everyone else.
Trump and the GOP are a hot mess...they've been running around DC and the rest of the country promising to kill ObamaCare and failed and failed miserably. What a spectacular and fiery crash. GOP in turmoil. This is only the beginning. Trump will destroy that party for generations to come.
yep, and they needed this to pass their tax cuts in reconciliation, with that out of the question they won't be rush their plan through to give huge tax breaks to all their billionaire friends
If ALL people with pre-existing conditions were thrown on the mercy of charities, how long do you think it would be before charities were tapped out?
And let's not forget all of the other people you would put at the mercy of charity, like those on welfare and food stamps, etc.
Leaving care to a hodgepodge of charities would turn into a giant dog eat dog cluster **** with thousands upon thousands of people, including children, falling through the cracks, left to suffer or die.
People can start throwing all the childish names, but isn't it better and smarter that if it needs to be changed to make a decision and go back to the drawing board!
