Anyone ever wondered if any of CD posters are bots vs singular posters?
First off, don't believe everything you see on TV.
Second, studies show that if "fake news" had any impact on the election, it actually favored Hillary Clinton since more "fake news" sites damaging Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton. https://web.stanford.edu/~gentzkow/r...h/fakenews.pdf
We also know that Hillary's PAC was paying online posters to flood Facebook, Twitter, Reddit & Instagram...at least. Hillary PAC Spends $1 Million to
Then of course we know that Google, Twitter, Facebook et al. Were all using bots against Trump for a number of reasons. To change search results to be more favorable to Hillary, to bury article favorable to Trump, to silence Trump supporters online, etc. There are so many examples, I'm not going to link just one.
Overall, you're off base with this, but if you're truley concerned about this type of thing, look at Hillary.
Speaking of fake news this was on 60 Minutes last night. I know some of you think 60 Minutes is fake but I thought this was a great segment. Fake News - 60 Minutes Videos - CBS News

We will soon learn of the bots used by Russia to influence the election season.
Several people who ran local sites for Bernie saw bot traffic jump big time last June.
Hillary spent 1 million? That is peanuts compared to what others spent. Now add in the ad money made by those kids in eastern Europe. They were making in a month the average annual wage in their country.

I suspect that a lot of the one-timers who post advertising stuff are bots.
Only one regular poster raises a question in my mind, but that poster's somewhat repetitive and quasi-robotic responses could also arise from asperger's - my brother is an aspy.
Oh, it's more than 'very likely on certain forums'. It's a certainty.
Some posters are really computer bots, usually with only one or two posts, spamming advertising links.
Some posters are computer algorithms, generating meaningless text in what appears to be some sort of attempt to create a bot indistinguishable from a human.
Some posters are real people but are simply hyper partisan. They occur on both sides of the political aisle. Hey, it takes all kinds to make a world.
Some posters are older people whose contribution to the political dialog is to post to this forum everything that pops up in their email in-boxes, forwarded to them from their politically like-minded friends. If my father knew what an Internet forum was, he'd be one of them; instead he's constantly printing out stuff from his emails and asking me to read them. \
Some posters are paid to put posts onto web forums with links to other web sites. This helps improve the search engine rankings for those sites. C-D is a popular target as it's one of the ten largest web forums.
And some posters are simply paid partisan posters, who earn money by working the social media fabric. They are quite easy to spot on C-D P&OC as they all exhibit a common profile.
Hillary Clinton was the keynote speaker. The photo showed the former secretary of state being embraced by attendees who were honored to spend an evening with the overwhelming winner of the popular vote in November.
Freedomdaily.com, theamericanmirror.com, madworldnews.com and who knows how many other online dung-spreaders stole Butch’s photo and presented it as evidence that Hillary is a shambolic alcoholic who got bombed at the event because she still can’t accept losing the presidency to Donald Trump.
It’s safe to say some attendees drank a few too many toasts to what might have been, but by all accounts, Hillary wasn’t one of them.
All accounts except the one Amanda Shea published. Here’s an execrable excerpt:
“Whether her instability was the result of too much to drink, her questionable health condition, or a combination of both, Americans dodged a bullet in not electing this embarrassment as our nation’s leader. It’s ironic that liberals will depict our president as a clown despite him always having a clear head since he doesn’t even drink, but completely ignore the obvious issues in Hillary being drunk in public.”
I think it's more common on Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit and than on here. I think the vast majority of posters on this particular message board are actual humans ... now that doesn't mean that they aren't posting the daily talking points from the basement of the Kremlin or the DNC HQ or wherever.
