So what would you propose? You like to see democracy usurped in order to force everyone to be good Christians? A nation can only be as Christian as its people and Christianity, at least fundamentalist varieties, is on the wane in this country.
Actually, Atheism and Agnosticism is on the rise slightly which seems appropriate since religion was removed from public schools more than 55 years ago. You'd think we would all be atheists by now since killing the idea of God certainly was the plan.
...but then, Christianity has been making a comeback as well: Just when everyone thought God was dead, The Creator seems to be making a serious comeback. Although non-believing cultural elites in media, academia, and entertainment may be the loudest voices in the room, a new Pew Research Study indicates they’re becoming the smallest group in the room. Among it’s findings:
73 percent of U.S. adults believe Jesus was born to a virgin.
81 percent, the baby Jesus was actually laid in a manger.
75 percent, wise men guided by a star brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
74 percent, an angel announced the birth of Jesus to shepherds nearby.
The study indicates that 65 percent of Americans believe all four of these elements of the Christmas story, and a mere 14 percent believe none.
and
Honestly, it shouldn’t be a surprise. When the Iron Curtain fell, we discovered that Communism couldn’t silence the Church, and despite horrific torture and executions by ISIS militants, Christians in that region refuse to recant. So it shouldn’t be shocking that here in the West, for all the criticism and clatter from nonbelievers, or advertising campaigns from atheists, Christianity is actually growing.
No worries, they will eventually die off. Very few people outside the Bible Belt under the age of 70 give a darn about religion. Ironically, it's the Hispanics keeping the churches open outside the South.
The South is the most populous region, and blacks and hispanics are also very religious. Christianity is not going anywhere.
Your premise is wrong. Christians don't want to usurp Democracy. In fact, if you talk to them, you'd find out they cherish the Constitution and our system of government. That's a lot more than I can say for Progressives.
Recent polls show the following.
-61% of Americans approve of gay marriage
-60% of Americans approve of legal marijuana (recreational and medical)
-79% of Americans believe abortion should be legal in at least some circumstances (such as rape, incest, medical complications)
-53% of Americans oppose bills that would require transgender people to use the bathroom of the gender on their birth certificate
-64% of Americans believe in climate change
-51% of Americans believe in evolution (this includes theistic evolutionists and atheists)
-63% of Americans believe that Kim Davis was wrong to do what she did
-63% of Americans believe public businesses should not be able to deny service to gay customers only on the basis of their sexual orientation
On all these issues, most Americans oppose the religious right's position. For the religious right to force their policy into law, they would indeed have to usurp democracy. Gerrymandering is one way they are already attempting to do this.

And 20 years ago, you would not have said gender or sexual orientation. The list just keeps getting pointlessly longer based on what the media spoon-feeds.
One right Christians don't have is to live in a society where nobody is allowed to disagree with them and nobody is allowed to criticize them, especially in politics. That isn't freedom. It seem's like the religious right's idea of "religious liberty" is a society where they call all the shots and if anybody stands up to them, they cry discrimination. It's a weird situation where a bully will claim to be bullied whenever they meet any resistance. Like it or not, we have free speech in this country and people are allowed to not believe in Christianity and claim from the mountaintops that its a fairy tale.
Also, it's a strawman to compare anybody who opposes theocracy to the far-left SJWs who are doing the things you mentioned. I'm for live and let live and I actually am against the tactics of some on the far-left recently.

This.
Depending on the poll, around 75% of Americans claim Christianity. They aren't the problem. The problem is the religious far-right. People like Bryan Fischer, Pat Robertson, Franklin Graham, Jerry Falwell Jr., etc that believe it's their God-ordained mission to infiltrate the government to force Christian morality on everyone.

I don't believe for a second that most Americans are fine with freaks wanting to use the opposite sex's bathroom because they "feel" like they are the opposite gender

That's what the Gallup poll says.
The religious right also doesn't understand what transgenderism actually is. It's not a man waking up one day, saying he feels like a woman, throwing on a dress, and then going to Target to rape people in the women's bathroom. I know that's what most evangelicals think transgenders do but that isn't it. I think children are at greater risk at Independent Fundamental Baptist churches or at Catholic confessionals than they are in the Target bathroom, despite what Fox News says.
I don't completely agree with everything that trans advocates are pushing for, but an actual transwoman is better off in the women's restroom than the men's. Most of the time it's not easy to tell if a person is trans in a passing glance and that is all that should be happening in the bathroom anyways.

I know exactly what it is. It is liberal men pretending to be women so they can go into women's lockers room to look at naked women. Simple as that.
