The government is refilling the swamp with its own citizens.

Companies like Google and Facebook do this, they can do it because no one is making you use their services, you dont want your web history tracked don't use face book or Google that seems fair, but opening up that ability to isp' s that you pay for, it's ridiculous. Here is an interesting experiment for free market worshippers, clearly consumers don't like it they dont want their internet provider to track their history, sell ad space based on your preferences right? Free-market dictates that either an isp will start marketing the fact that they don't do that and if consumers value that privacy they will pay what that's worth, you should possibly see isp s offering two tiers of services, one subsidized by ads, one private, there is consumer demand the market should react to that and self regulate, who is willing to bet that something like that will happen? I would bet that it doesn't.

Said this in the other thread, and I'll say it again: this is why you don't elect a politically inexperienced businessman to the highest political office. Of course he values the free market over the people. That's all he's ever known.

I'll elaborate on why a businessman is not a good leader for just any role. It's fair to say that both his jobs, previous and current (minus the reality TV role... which isn't something I ever expected to say about a president) were leadership jobs. But, in the same way, a surgeon and psychologist are both doctors. To get right to it, would you trust a psychology to preform surgery? Then why trust a business executive to lead a country?

This has gone on forever... it's amazing that people make laws that are pointless because its been going on for more than 2 decades... repeal it, and people are upset even though they signed up to give up that information a decade ago... do you read the EULA of city-data? Probably not...

Talking Why is the GOP Congress and Trump dead set on destroying internet privacy rights for the little guy?

Because that's what they're all about.

GOP's deepest bedrock doctrine: Working folks have too much and millionaires have too little.

They're extremely consistent.

Only morons would be the least bit surprised by this.

Why does anyone believe the politicians have us in our best interests. The health care bill is a fine example. Instead of limiting the topic to paying for health care it included a trillion dollar tax cut for the very top of the income ladder. This is the primary reason I am pleased that it failed.

We need the House to create a bipartisan bill theat concerns only paying for healthcare. Hopefully that bill will exclude private insurance companies and monopolistic health care provider organizations from participation. The savings would be nearly as much as the proposed tax cut for billionaires.

Hopefully the Senate will block this internet privacy intrusion and/or the Donald will veto it.

The difference is the selling of your information.

Justify it how you like, this is actually new. We're not talking about a website, we're talking about your entire ISP.

I doubt porn sites are going to be a blip on their radar, but this is still not a good thing.
