She had the authority to unmask in certain situations. If she unmasked for political reasons, it would be illegal.

I have no problem with political advisors having clearances but, do NOT understand why they would have the authority to "unmask"

As an advisor they have no real authority for actions other then advising.

Seems a bit odd to me.
