There was nothing strange about the opinions stated in the piece. They are the majority opinion which even more people move toward the more they see of Trump's behavior and actions.

What part of the actual article did you find wrong/incorrect?

It didn't say anything about the simple lifestyle being less desirable. If you love your life and you're not hurting anybody to maintain it, great! If you think many real people (both Trump and non-Trump voters) live a Kardashian-type lifestyle, you watch too much TV. Most people have ordinary lives. The man who promised you what you think he's going to give you is the one who has always lived that lifestyle. Trump was born to a millionaire, he was driven to school in a chauffered limousine. He has always lived a rich man's life, way more like the Kardashians than like yours or mine. Does he come from a life where he can relate to yours?

One of the worst things about Trump, is that he has so many people who believe his lies and promises are the truth--against their own best interests. You and people like you believe he understands you and your problems when he has never lived a day as a common man.

Trump has mental disorders. Lying all the time is part of them. If nobody believed him, no problem. But they do. You have. Another part of Trump, is that he figures out what's important to people and he knows that's their weakness. It gives him power over them, because they believe him. His main concern is his own ego. If he has to decide between something that helps you and people like you or something that helps him in some way that hurts you, he goes for himself.

Again there is nothing wrong with a well-lived, simple life. The bad thing about thinking in a simple way is that you sometimes trust people who are liars and aren't trustworthy. That's the way Trump is. Your taxes may or may not get lowered. Manufacturing may or may not come to your area. The way things are looking now, Trump is creating chaos and mistrust every where he goes. He's more busy with doing that because it's familiar to him. It's his normal. And playing golf. He has always wanted attention good or bad and it's hard for him to go for the good. He doesn't really know how nor is he satisfied with only doing good things. He has shown more interest in lowering taxes for the millionaires and billionaires than for regular working people

Have you had a person or people in your own life who lied to you or betrayed you and felt no guilt or remorse for having done it? Maybe they made a promise they didn't keep and they didn't care? That's how Trump has always been from the time he was in school and later in business. You and a lot of people are just barely learning who he really is. A lot of other people have known of him for a long time and know he's not a good person or a good leader. The counties where he was best known in New York DIDN'T vote for him. THEY KNEW HIM. Nobody can make you believe that which you don't. Just keep your eyes open and don't believe that which isn't true just because it comes from Trump.

Very well stated.
Yes, people in their hometowns usually support the local person when they run for office - did you see
the video footage of people crying in the streets in NYC when it was shown that Trump had won? He
is theirs....they know him better than anyone - yet he lost in NYC - that rarely happens when a candidate loses in their own hometown. It says a lot.

How is Trump manipulating simple minds?

I guess "simple minds" are foolishly manipulated by wanting lower taxes, not wanting the 3rd world to take-over America and less worthless regulations.

I guess "simple minds" are manipulated into voting for Trump because he wants to Manufacturing jobs in America and Sharia Terrorists out.

Why Trump Lies - Los Angeles Times

Maybe the Los Angeles Times should focus on writing more articles on the Kardashians, after all they tend to have 3 long special reports on the Karashians per month.

Kim Kardashian Articles, Photos, and Videos - Los Angeles Times

The newspaper wasn't even quoting an opinion, it was basically just writing an essay of strange opinions.

I love how the Los Angeles Times says Trump "manipulates simple minds".

The Los Angeles Times looks down on simple-minded, old-fashioned, good people who don't want to live a Los Angeles Kardashian/Kanye/Jenner lifestyle.

The simplest people with those simple minds tend to be happier anyway. Simplicity is bliss.

Not everyone wants to live the non-simple lifestyle of answering e-mails, marketing Facebook and Snapchat, going to dirty clubs and having bottle service for thousands a night like the West L.A liberals.

I look where it came from, and just laugh.

It is very clearly marked as an opinion piece, as shown below, including the red type.
