Per Napolitano they discussed it. My guess is that they would have supported him but would not have been happy.

Andrew Napolitano?

He is definitely a constitutional conservative. So why wouldn't republicans approve of him? The only thing that I can think of is he has been on TV too much, it seems like SCOTUS judges tend to come from a more quiet and non public background, I think.

The same Napolitano who invented fake news on FOX and made Trump look like a complete idiot for passing it on as fact?

Nominating him to the SC sure would have been in line with everything else Trump does: idiotic.

If trump had nominated Napolitano to SCOTUS, would republican senators have voted for him?

He didn't nominate Napolitano, so it doesn't matter. He nominated Gorsuch who is highly rated with a great record of a dozen years on the Federal Bench.
