One of my neighbors is a retired lawyer who moved to Texas a few years ago from up north to get away from the winters. We get together from time to time for a drink or to go to the rifle range. He's a diehard right winger. When he brings up politics, it's always talking points straight from Fox News or Limbaugh. That makes it easy for me to counter whatever point he's trying to make.
But we don't resort to name calling or get overheated.
There seems to be so much hate, insulting and nastiness on these boards of people from other parties. My question is, do many of you use this forum to mask your cowardice in telling this to people to their face?
Democrats/Liberals if you know someone from work, a friend, or family member voted for Trump do you call them "Trumptards" to their face?
Conservatives/Republicans if you know someone from work, a friend, or family member that voted for Clinton do you call them "Snowflake" to their face?
I find the name calling on here very cowardly, so seeing if people are like this in real-life too.
I find that almost exclusively, most people are quite moderate, at least in conversation. I think most of us can talk with one another and agree to disagree, in fact, I have siblings who are very liberal and very conservative, they can argue but love one another beyond the politics. The aggressive rhetoric we see on these forums is just a bunch of keyboard warriors who can hide behind their anonymity, there's really no consequence for insults or prejudice. The other type of respondent, who creates the illusion of a deeply divided ideological battle, are the drama queens who thrive on division and controversy, ala Rush Limbaugh.

No. I'm just as much as an a-hole in person.

Well, not "Trumptard"... but I have called a few people by the moniker "StormTrumper" if they act the part.

Yep, and I am sure that fish you caught was "THIS BIG" too!
In fact, I think he is progressive on health care and many other government topics.
Difference is... he is conservative and constitutionally correct on several key issues to which made the decision over the criminal Clinton not even an choice, but then... hey... you people love criminals right? You support the corrupt politicians and promote bigger government to empower them.
