The President must be a neoconservative. It's not just a Republican thing. America is a militarist country and the two mainstream parties feed into that.

All Trump has to do to solidify his grip is to allow the free interplay of market forces to restore the economy and refrain from impulsive Tweets and pipe-dreams like his wall. Whether he possesses the common sense to do so is yet to be determined, but the continued rants by spoiled snowflakes are probably the best thing he's got going for him.
So Pence and Sessions wasn't reaching out to social conservatives.

I think, policy is going to be same. There is noting like Obama or Trump foreign policy. It is going to be same as if same guy is running from behind.

Trump always was a neo-con, right from the first. All he had to do was to say what his voters wanted to hear so badly, and they overlooked that obvious fact when he did.
I always had the impression he was just a "sovranist" , a bit like Putin is in Russia
not really Republican but neither a Democrat in disguise
in the middle, let's say

It could be we have all wanted to believe he was somethin different, what we (you Americans actually) needed instead of what he really is.

I beginning to think so. He has no back bone, NEXT! I've fired him in my mind. What a shame, I was really starting to like the guy.

Just shows how desperate so many Americans are. That doesn't say much for how America's government has been doing for the last thirty years. Instead of calling us stupid though, I'd call it more of a desperate attempt to become a healthy nation again. That's the saddest part.

Yes, just like with the health care bill, Wall Street deregulation or the internet service provider spying bill, Trump is just a clueless puppet who does the bidding of special interests.

Hint- the REPUBLICAN REGIME OF GWB - Cheney and the Military Industrial Complex.....were the leaders of the neo-con movement.

Although I believe it was never really believed among the "evil doers" (like Cheney), many of them actually thought we show up and everyone greets us with flowers and then instantly turns into a corporate democracy like we have and also partners with our fossil fuel companies.

It's not too far from Fascism really. Corporate control and "we are the most civilized and if we show up and give them an example, everyone will come right along and do the same".

The fact is that "conservatives" have never done much except support slavery, try to keep us out of WWII and tried to stop civil rights, women's rights...and supported big business.

So they came up with a new name so they could modernize - "neo-con" or "new conservative" who, instead of focusing all their energy on hating blacks, browns, gays, women and jailing 1/2 the US population for weed...would instead focus their energy on using guns and bombs to install democracy the world over.

Any questions? Mainly it's about big business (military and fossil fuels usually) running the show and making sure we spend trillions on everything except the USA. It also includes opposition to basic things like health care for Americans and massive infrastructure. The Greenspan wing likes wall street dereg.
