Well this looks like Trumps first test, anyone else worried. Thank god for Mattis and McMaster.

Defense Secretary James Mattis will brief President Donald Trump on Thursday at Mar-a-Lago on military options against Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad's regime in the wake of a deadly attack which activists said killed at least 100 people — including 25 children — and injured 400 others earlier this week.
The White House and Pentagon have had detailed back-and-forth conversations over the past two days about options, including a National Security Council meeting Wednesday. Mattis and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster have had repeated contact about the best way forward in Syria, a U.S. official told NBC News

Glad the generals are there. Trump needs a win, and this could be the ultimate distraction. But if we help take assad out, what happens? Who is in power?

Hopefully nothing will happen. We do not need boots on the ground and the history of the US toppling dictators in that region of the world has not been successful.

Would we even have a world wide isis issue if Saddam or Ghadafi were still around?

We need to keep out of this and instead join with other nations to apply pressure. What that entails who knows but sending in troops is not a good idea.

Why is he listening to them? He knows more than they do. Anyway, about the last thing you will hear from a general is "stay out of it".

How about Trump takes Melania out to dinner and leaves Syria to deal with its own problems?

I warned you guys that Trump was the real warhawk, instead you guys fell for the fake news that Hillary wanted to start WWIII.

When the American boys and girls come back from Damascus in wooden boxes just remember that this was what YOU voted for when you filled in the bubble for Donald J Trump.

I'm not so sure. I'm waiting to get the book from my local library but everything I've heard about McMaster's Dereliction of Duty makes it seem as though he recognizes the Vietnam War for the huge mistake it was. Hopefully he's a bit above the 'WAR is the answer, what was the question?' attitude so many in the Pentagon seem to take.

You're an idiot if you think our foreign policy changes because of a different president. Hillary threatened military action against Russia, a no fly zone in Syria and Libya?

Couldn't he just take him out with tweets? He's good at that. Assad will wilt under Trump's twitterstorms.
