People asking what an 11 year old is doing with a girlfriend must live pretty sheltered lives. That's when puberty hits and hormones are raging.
I was 11 once. 11 year olds were not screwing in any great numbers. I don't remember any of my playmates having girlfriends.

Lock her up. If she's this cruel at 13 she'll be worse than a monster at 18.

I think people are reading too much into the word 'girlfriend'.

I had a "girlfriend" when I was 11. We ate lunch at school together outside under a tree and held hands. I don't think I ever saw her outside of school, and it never got any more hot and heavy than a kiss on the cheek.

Now the unprecedented pressures of social media, on the other hand, cannot be understated.

I do not criticize the Internet for everything. I think it is a parent's job to teach their children that there is a real life and an online life, and never the twain shall meet. People need to understand that people may say or do things online that they'd never really do.
