In the current news world where unreliable/biased reporting abounds (in all directions), which sources do you still trust for factual news?

To clarify, I'm not asking which ones you DON'T trust, because that's probably most of 'em. It's easier to highlight the ones you DO still usually trust.

Pretty much my own eyes and that's it. After that it's various levels of distrust which I wouldn't really classify as trust. Sorry I can't give a better answer, but this is 2017.

The Nation, The Intercept, Jacobinmag.

Mainstream media is owned by the richest and most powerful sectors of the American economy and obviously have a vested interest in pushing their agenda so it should be avoided at all costs. They are not on the side of the people.

The catch 22 with that though is the smaller media has fewer resources to get breaking news ahead of the rest.

But for analyses and projections based on historical data, I completely agree. And I'd argue that that's more important than being the very first news outlet to announce something.

At this point, pretty much none of them. I watch C-Span online, I "follow" certain people from government on Twitter to hear it from their own mouths...and that does include idiots from the left just so that I can keep up on what bs they're spewing. (Chelsea Clinton)

And I follow a few respected people who are not journalists, but do know how to interpret the gibberish that so many out there put out. I think our schools need to work significantly harder on teaching kids how to write coherent sentences.

I generally trust the BBC and YLE (Finnish national broadcasting company) but with all news I try and check a few other sources, especially local sources, to fact check. I think its unwise to trust any source completely without checking.

.
The "breaking news" is EXACTLY what is based on pushing the agenda of whomever pays more to the media regardless of whether it's true or not.

I think NPR shoots pretty straight. If they didn't, they would loose funding.
