No, This was a criminal act of war in violation of the Nurnberg standards. Germans were HANGED for lesser "Crimes against Peace."
It was not a "warning shot" nor was it "Walk softly and carry a big stick": it was a war crime.
It was also a crime against the Constitution of the United States and thus a perjury of his oath of office by Donald Trump.

REALPOLITIK: do you think perhaps Russia also has a "line in the sand?"

This is exactly the kind of "little hands- little Dick" foreign policy that could cause us so much more harm than benefit. A thoughtless jackass in the White House drawing imaginary lines is worrisome in the extreme. But that is what we are stuck with thanks to an undemocratic election process.

So the various international conventions against the use of chemical weapons apply only to hamstring Western countries, not barbaric ones such as Syria?

No international convention has ever hamstrung the United States from doing exactly what it wished, no matter the legality.

I think if you pay attention long enough you will see that the use of chemical weapons in Syria was an idea hatched in the Pentagram and executed by our allies, the "good" terrorist rebels to give Trump an excuse for increased involvement in the Middle East wars. (Started by US in violation of the Nurnberg Accords.)

Example or proof?

This is well written and far above my intelligence level. Can you explain in simple terms?

Example?
A purely offensive war is defined as a Crime against Peace and merely PLANNING such a thing (against Poland) got Nazis hanged.
Quote:
Principle VI[edit]
Quote:
"The crimes hereinafter set out are punishable as crimes under international law:
(a) Crimes against peacei) Planning, preparation, initiation or waging of a war of aggression or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances;(ii) Participation in a common plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment of any of the acts mentioned under (i).
The invasion of Iraq in 2003 was as heinous a violation of Principle VI of the Nurnberg Accords as was the Invasion of Poland. Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld should have been hanged for their crime.

Second paragraph is pretty straightforward: The U.S. government concocted the false claims of Assad's use of chemical weapons, just as they had before as a prelude to a U.S. War of expansion. <"Pentagram" was a bit of a joke, but somewhat apt nevertheless.>
Even more straightforward: Assad did not use chemical weapons.

What about Hussein's brazen violation of the right of the U.N. inspectors to do their job?> And his bragging that Iraq had WMD's? Even if not true would you walk around O'Hare or JFK boasting of weaponry?

Does Cheeto actually give two turds about Syrian civilians getting gassed? I doubt any American does. Just a bunch of faux manufactured outrage. Does anyone actually think getting gassed is any worse than getting blown up by a land mine, shot at with machine gun, burned to death with napalm which is the US favored method, etc? No, they are looking for any excuse to start a war with Syria.

Whether Assad is even responsible for the gas attack remains a question and there are serious doubts.

I guess you would also have a problem with any collateral deaths by Israeli Defense Force operations to protect Israel.

The UN has NO rights in a sovereign nation. Nor does the U.S. in imposing these assumed UN rights.

There WERE no weapons of mass destruction. That was just the cover story for the criminal invasion of Iraq and the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis. Clearly a war crime for anyone with eyes and an open mind to see.
