Love china being bold on this issue, maybe they just needed 'persuasion' from an unpredictable US president. Chinese won't let North Korea mess up its money and economic dominance. If US and China team up to solve this problem successfully I could see a stronger alliance between the two countries forming.

Apparently only one US reporter there - Will Ripley from CNN. They had to leave their cell phones behind to attend this event. People believe that means Kim is there.

They are not going to do anything to help.

They use these troops to stop the refugee, they said it on their own news network.

China can overrun the dump that is NK in a few hours. But then china will be responsible for millions of poor starving and ignorant North Koreans who think their communist hell on earth was some sort of workers paradise.

I think this is an acceptable solution as well. China is at leSt a civilized modern nation, even if we don't agree with some of thier values. I don't think China would be eager to take on this expensive endeavor, so it's doubtful it would happen. The Chinese troops are more likely for border protection in the event a million refugees start heading north.

Another possibility would be a grand bargain with China, one where they assist South Korea and the USA with the removal of North Korean government and reunification of Korea and the USA turns a blind eye to a Chinese annexation of Taiwan. After all the Chinese are right that Taiwan is part of China and that issue is none of our business anyway. Everyone wins, nuclear nutcase in Korea is gone, china and Korea are reunited and far more stability returns to Asia. In this scenario the USA could save a lot of money by pulling all our forces out of Asia with the threat gone. Taiwan would likely be just like Hong Kong, a peaceful and prosperous part of China.
