Not even 3 months in President Trump's administration, some SNL writers think they can change the minds, of the people that voted for him, is ridiculous.

Trump voters are Hardcore and they will not be swayed.

He cares bigly. He knows struggles. Afterall, now and then he has to read prepared speeches by adults. Oh, the horror.

You are somewhat right, but don't forget that the 'mob situation' can just as easily apply to the Democrats: welfare collecting moms with 5 kids from 4 fathers, illegal immigrants, etc.

It's why the founding fathers were smart enough not to make us a democracy --- we are a constitutional republic. If we were a democracy, Hillary wins.

They don't think they can change those people's minds.

It's a comedy/tragedy sorta deal.

I'm fine with the US being a Republic, but Trump is a dumpster fire.

Exactly. When I watched it my thought was "they won't even get why this is so funny". For Democrats in blue states, just watching what the GOP does to red staters will be most satisfying. When Trump takes their health coverage, puts tariffs on imports, takes their land to build a wall, privatizes Social Security and Medicare, the red states will suffer the most. Education and the environment also suffer under the GOP. And yesterday Republicans said they want to take a look at Social Security Disability, which is so prevalent in Appalachia. Blue states will fight to continue as they do and Trump says he wants to reduce our taxes, so more of our money can stay within blue states.

Making fun of all the "hicks' who voted for Trump. LOL, keep it up and see more Dems lose in the next election. They don't have a clue on why they lost.

Why don't you have a problem with conservatives making fun of liberals? Snowflakes, crybabies, etc.

SNL is not on air to 'change minds'. Their job is to make people laugh.

Period.

Additionally, it's an American tradition:

Quote:
...Indifferently received when it opened, Duck Soup has since been celebrated as one of Hollywood’s most memorable war films. Like all Marx Brothers’ movies, it is an anarchic farce with a ramshackle plot, absurdist set pieces, and exaggerated characters. The film satirizes thin-skinned leaders with dictatorial tendencies but makes no pretense of being set in the real world. Later in his life, when asked about the larger meaning of Duck Soup, Groucho brushed off the question: “We were just four Jews trying to get a laugh.” (It should be noted that at least one dictator found subversive meaning in the film: Benito Mussolini banned Duck Soup in Italy.) If any lesson is to be drawn from Duck Soup—and it’s always dangerous to look for lessons in Marx Brothers’ films—it’s that giving too much power to, and projecting too much onto, a leader with deep-seated insecurities and a mercurial temperament is a surefire way to destabilize the national order. ...
What the Marx Brothers' Duck Soup can teach us about Trump.
