It would be an ASSumption. I oppose unrestricted abortion.I oppose the TG nonsense regarding locker rooms. I support Chik Fil A ( see my post in that current thread). I oppose a welfare state. I support voter ID. Im glad that a conservative SC justice was appointed. I support gun rights, although Im not big on the idjits that want to parade around with an AR15 slung over their shoulder so they feel like Rambo or whatever they are aiming for. But I own guns, hunt, and have 12 ga ready for any unwanted guests. I oppose affirmative action.
I could go on, but you should be getting the point.
But I also support gay rights, on the simple basis of privacy and the right of an individual to live his/her life as they please as long as they arent hurting others. I believe in helping those willing to work to help themselves. I oppose the DP since it is not reversable if we make a mistake. I support civil rights to the point all are equal, but no special treatment.
As I said, I am an indie who thinks each issue through, and dont follow any ideology other than common sense.
As far as your right to reject my premise, my point was not "dont disagree with me", it was that you chose to lump me in as a "lefitie" simply because I disagreed with you, which proves my point about partisan ideology.
Lets take abortion for example. We are told because we lean right we don't believe in abortion but the fact is I believe in the right to choose but there has to be a time limit but that didn't stop the left from telling me I thought otherwise.
Another example is I believe that we should help people who are unable due to physical limitations or fall on hard times (a SECOND chance), but there has to be a limit, because of that belief I'm told I believe letting people starve to death. They have extreme views, no in between. One must believe their ideology whole heartily or your a racist, bigot, misogynist .... take your pick for daring to have a difference of opinion.
So how did we get to pointing to the right instead of discussing liberals. AND if you read my post, I said, two wrongs don't make a right.
Because your OP wants to imply that this is strictly a liberal issue. Responding later to my posts admitting that well, maybe it happens some on the right doesnt alter the intentions of the OP.
As I said, if I were to automatically ASSume and that's the problem I'm trying to point out. Many people automatically assume things based on a few comments. We agree on alot of things, whew, I'm glad I didn't ASSume based on a few of your posts.. but I'll note that you made assumptions about me.
Another point is, alot of people assume that because one has conservative or liberal views, they believe in all their views. I had to laugh at what the left told me what I believed in during the 2012 and 2016 election when they were flat out wrong. I laughed as I thanked them for telling me what I think.
I dont recall assuming anything about you, but no big deal. I go by what I read in posts.

Many Liberals of today are progressive liberals (extreme) and they will never let go of their quest for power even if it means preventing positive progress. As for Trump, he is our president who I hope will be successful in defending our freedoms and initiate policies that will benefit as many as possible.
However, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. There is only so much anyone can do to help others but if those people believe that they are entitled without effort on their own, they'll never succeed and those are the people who will scream the loudest as they blame everyone else for their failure.

And at the same time anyone who feels we should attempt to fix our healthcare system to do better for the poor is automatically a "bleeding heart liberal ' who simply wants to turn us into a socialist atheist country and rob money from hard working Americans to give it to lazy poor people. Anyone who wants to leave adults alone to decide who to love and marry, or even just have sex with, is a SJW who wants to destroy marriage, destroy America, and make us all godless leftie pinkos. Anyone who thinks the Earth is warming up is a leftie socialist trying to use GW to destroy America and redistribute our wealth to poorer commie leaning nations.

woo, you picked a real sore spot for me. When my healthcare insurance cost $450 a month pre-Obamacare and increased to over $900 a month with double the deductible post Obamacare, naturally I'm not for it. Don't even bother debating that issue because I'm really p*ssed about it.
If you want to find a way to help the poor, go for it but hurting other Americans to do it is bullsh*t. Besides, there is Medicaid for the poor, government didn't have to blow up the who thing, they could have loosened the restrictions for qualifying for that a little.

Im not talking specifically about Ocare. Im talking about the concept of trying to help the poor and lower middle class get access to health care on more than just an emergency room basis. The concept that we should even be helping them at all is met with derision among many, if not most, conserves as bleeding heart liberalism wanting to take from hard working Americans to give it to lazy people. And Im not trying to debate the actual issue here, but show examples of how the right behaves exactly the same way you wish to call the left out for.
