How was what he said even remotely funny and what point was being made in which the grammatical tool of sarcasm could have been employed?
Funniness is a subjective thing. Im not going to argue that point with anyone. The point was that they need more diversity in their group, as opposed to being composed primarily of old white men.
A poorly chosen way to make a point, and one the guy admitted was probably not the proper way even as he said it. But folks laughed, so they saw the humor even if you do not. And they saw the whole speech in context.
Sorry, but Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are hilarious, and far funnier than any equivalent on the right.
Your not thinking something is funny doesnt make it so for everyone. Tastes differ. I have seen conserves laugh at racist jokes that would appall liberals. Heck, I have even told a couple of jokes about JJ that used racist words myself, and had the hard core conserves rolling from them.

Stewart and Colbert are your tastes. Not funny at all imo.
I like(d) George Carlin, Bill Burr, Johnny Carson, Jerry Seinfeld and Lenny Bruce.
All either offended both sides, stayed neutral, or had grounded observations (impossible for a radical lib) to base humor off of.

As I said, peoples tastes differ. I like Stewart and Colbert because they are both funny and pretty honest about things. Neither is a loon for the left like a Hannity or O Reilly is for the right. But apropos to your claim, Carlin was funny and was a huge liberal, maybe even swerving towards anarchist. LB was before my time, but was likely a liberal, and I have never heard BB. But Carson was funny.
Most comedians are probably towards the liberal side, simply because of all entertainers they tend to push the societal envelope. Some, like Clower, are conservative, but they are likely the minority.

Crowder's comedy is awesome. It's far superior to his serious political musings which aren't bad just mainstream statist Right talking points.
Carlin could be construed as a conservative anarchist (like myself). You can't get to true anarchism by going Left. That's where I disagree with 99.9% of the population.
Check out Carlin's views in "Saving the Planet". It's anti-SJW gold decades before those morons started to infest the media.

You are only the second person I have met who held to anarchism but was conservative. Another poster I was friend/foe with on another site was an anarchist who thought Reagan was the greatest POTUS ever, and was fairly libertarian in his politics ( most of the time. He also would argue for a basic living wage from the government, which didnt jibe to me) . Most anarchist literature veers strongly to the left. So on what basis do you say that true anarchism is conservative? A sincere question and not an in your face challenge, BTW.
Or maybe you are that friend by another name. I know of one libertarian here from that site because they use the same name, and have the same politics, and it is too strange a name to be randomly duplicated.

Normal people undertand that suicide is not an appropriate topic for humor and sarcasm. Then again, I wouldn't expect someone who goes by the handle "eddie gein" to undertand that.
Really, take a look in the mirror.
nope it definitely is and i have been very close to a couple of people who killed themselves so take it from me. Humor is your friend, otherwise you might well end up getting so depressed.....
Getting back on point I didn't see the humor in what this guy said. It's just in poor taste.
I'm not sure what there is to debate about this. Humor is like music. I dont like jazz, many others do, so my unappreciation of it obviously doesnt mean it isnt good music. I like bluegrass among a bunch of other types, including classical. But I know few people around me that appreciate either.Humor is much the same. No point in debating what different people find funny.
