You don't speak for me.

For several years I've been sending email "alerts" through CAPS demanding that my 2 worthless senators (Kaine and Warner) and my rep (both she and her predecessor were good on this issue)vote yes on bills that were introduced to deal with illegal immigration. I've talked with local officials and joined with others to fight against a taxpayer funded day labor site for illegals.

When we hire people to work in our home, we make sure that they are licensed, bonded and insured. We even ask if they use day laborers. If the answer to that is "yes", then we don't hire them.

Once my husband asked a company rep if their company used E-verify. They didn't know what it was and my husband explained. They said they would call us with an estimate. We never heard from them again. Gee...I wonder why

17.78 times more murders in our sister city.

For all of you celebrating Easter today, thinking about the life and teachings of Jesus, I fail to see how you could look the other way at that carnage and not understand why people cross the border. So until there is a quicker path to citizenship, I'm all for sanctuary cities, including my own of San Diego.
I support both a quicker path and the right of cities to not enforce laws that they are not required to enforce.

Do you know any liberals?

Solution: don't waste your time or energy talking to liberals.

If it was true that MANY liberals were against illegal immigration, we wouldn't be having the sanctuary city crisis we are having.
Sanctuary cities are created by liberals -- millions of them actively protecting illegals from deportation or criminal illegals from arrest.

Agreed. Less than 20 years ago I think there were a LOT more liberals against illegal immigration. Bill Clinton himself spoke aggressively about stopping it.

These days though... its a quite different story. So many liberals say "nobody is illegal" and such. Theres so many social justice warriors trying to virtue signal what a "big heart" they have. They attempt to claim such a sense of moral superiority that they will defend practially anyone, as long as its not a conservative or anything which relates to traditional Americana. A blue collar liberal who denounces illegal immigration is truly a rare breed these days.

There is no crisis. It's also not the states job to do the job the Constitution says the Federal government must do.

Again it's funny how so many want to complain about cities or states but refuse to get on the federal government despite it being their job.

Politics, nothing more.

They are blocked by the courts from even asking legal status.

Why should there be a "quicker path" or any path at all for illegal aliens? We tried amnesty in 1986 and it just made things worse. The dems promised that there would never again be any amnesties (we've had several stealth amnesties since then) that the border would be secured (it's still unsecured) and that illegals will never be able to hold jobs (we have 8 million no-match SSNs in the workforce). Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Amnesty, let alone citizenship, for illegals is a slap in the face to legal immigrants.

First time I ever got really mad about it was a few decades ago when a teacher friend said she was teaching ESL. Turns out she was NOT teaching them English. She was getting paid to teach them Spanish!

We're wasting tax payers' money on educating kids whose parents don't pay into the system. We are probably paying health care for some of them. We are losing jobs to them. Out in the SW, they have already taken the jobs but around here it's just starting. The landscaping jobs, roofing jobs, house cleaning jobs. An honest person can barely make a living anymore doing these things.

By getting paid illegally under the table, they get paid less than an American and they don't pay taxes either!

I am 100% against illegals. Everyone I have talked to is 100% against illegals. I don't even know any conservatives but all liberals around here come right out and tell you that the first thing that needs to be done is to get rid of illegals.

Maybe on the west coast, the people have lain down and are taking it but in this part of the country we haven't reached that point yet. How are we supposed to get rid of them? Trump doesn't seem to be doing very much about it either! Why don't you tell him?

I am FOR Legals. People who wait in line, are vetted, get medical checks, and come here lawfully. They also pay our government a lot of money in fees so they have already contributed to the country.
I agree with this post and its a good post, until you say the part about "legal" immigrants and its only bad on the west coast, its bad everywhere, our entire visa and immigration system is broken. The 9/11 bombers were allowed to enter the country , train ( "flight school" where they didnt really care about learning to land????, only in Florida! ) and they killed 3,000 and maimed and burned 9,000 people, Why was the Tsarnaev family that gave us the boston bombers allowed into our country?

Even this killing in Mass. of google employee Vanessa Marcotte who was out jogging and killed by Angel Cordero-Ortiz required interpreters to talk to him and they werent even sure if he was legal in the press conference but he was probably a "legal" immigrant. The rape of the 14 year old girl in Rockville High School in Maryland, and one of the illegal immigrants charged in the rape was detained by the Obama administration at a border crossing last year and later released

Its bad in the northeast, midatlantic, the south, the midwest and the west. Liberals and dems and the media were pushing the " browning of america" because they have lost the white vote in a major way, but conservatives havent done much in stopping illegal immigration or changes in our entire immigration policy either, thats why we need a real right wing party. Even legal immigration and non-immigrant visas needs to be curtailed massively.

The 9/11 bombers were allowed to enter the country "legally"
