You are confusing the "Left" with "Democrats".
The Left is not monolithic and there are some radical rivalries in the spectrum of Left wing politics in the US. Even the progressives and mainstream center-Left democrats have an uneasy alliance, much less the social democrats (who were actively sabotaged by the latter mentioned groups) and left wing "anarchists" and Antifa types.
To believe otherwise would be akin to assuming that anyone who votes Republican is a secret Nazi or KKK sympathizer just because ideologically they all fall under the rubric of the political Right wing..

We see this all the time. It is a right wing tactic to assign who the left loves hates etc. It is a small part of a larger effort to define the Left in terms that suit their needs.
So one day it will be the Left hates China, loves Russia fast forward a few weeks they flip it.
Or the Left hates america, the left hates freedom the left hates (insert anything you like)
It is all about deflecting and keeping the conversation away from the grim truth that the right has no real policy other than depriving minorities and attacking anyone not on their "team"..
We see the current republican admin has no actual policies to create jobs, "make america great" no real policy on education other than to fund religious fundamentalists with federal dollars. no plan for transit, no plan to reduce or control the spiralling costs of 3rd level ed.
No plans at all other than social adherence to a minority religious creed. Ask a republican what the party is about and they will tell you stories of democratic spending , entitlement. Try to take a single one of those entitlements and Republicans will show up at town halls looking and sounding like dems...
the entire republican party is built on a simple lie. "if you elect us will we take from others and give to you" but it is not real and not possible. Instead the only ones gaining will be the upper middle classes and the uber wealthy...

I really don't see your logic. How am I confusing the left with Democrats? Are you saying Democrats are not on the left? Or all leftists are not Democrats? Who are the leftists that are not Democrats?
Are you saying that the 'radical left' makes a hero out of Chomsky? He's more of an anarchist than a leftist, or are you equating leftists with anarchists? I don't think they are the same.
Antifa? Not sure what that is, but I'm thinking anti-fascists. So who are the pro-fascists? Nationalists?
