Local paper had this article today:

We're Entering A New Golden Age of Psychedelics, and Portland is Leading the Way - Willamette Week

Looks like the next legalization attempt could be mushrooms. Given that it basically impossible to die from a overdose on them it seems reasonable....but anyone taking too much is going to have some serious regret. I'm not sure they should not be regulated. The consequences for taking too many can be....unpleasant. But I suppose the same is true of alcohol.

What are peoples thoughts? Anyone here tried micro-dosing for example?
Some disclosure-I have friends who do, and report that its helped them with some issues. And externally I have to agree.

Never tried micro-dosing, because one's youthful escapades don't normally involve such things.

That said, if any drug helped people with health issues and could be legitimately documented as helpful (such as marijuana for chronic pain and nausea in people with a variety of illnesses) then I'm fine with it as long as it's regulated.

All drugs should be legal. Governments have no right to tell me what to eat, drink or smoke.

Sure they do, if your drug use negatively impacts other people.

Your diet affects other people having to subsidize your obesity. ( not you in particular just your average obese joe out there ) so the government has the right to mandate obesity Joe to do whatever the government deems fit.

How far the land of freedom liberty and independence has fallen.

How does an adult someone partaking in personal drug use negatively impact anyone else?

Just like drinking responsibly, it's important to use any substance responsibly.

If someone is a public nuisance while on a drug, penalize them for the nuisance they're causing. Just like with drinking.

The US was never a land of freedom and liberty and independence, unless you were part of the wealthy elite.

The American history we were taught in school is bunk. But that's a whole different topic.
