That's what I'm saying. The hornets nest is all abuzz with hate and drippy butt hurt, a dangerous combination.

Hey! Cut Trump some slack. He didn't know how complicated the situation is. He needed a 10 minute history lesson from Chinese President Xi Jinping. Good thing we don't have a president like Obama any more, who needed to learn on the job (or be tutored in world history).

President Donald Trump recounted an absolutely astounding detail about one of his conversations with Chinese President Xi Jinping in comments published by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday afternoon. Apparently, Trump came into his first meeting with the Chinese leader, in early April, convinced that China could simply eliminate the threat posed by North Korea’s nuclear program. Xi then patiently explained Chinese-Korean history to Trump — who then promptly changed his mind.

After listening for 10 minutes, I realized it’s not so easy,” the president told the Journal. “I felt pretty strongly that they had a tremendous power [over] North Korea. ... But it’s not what you would think.”

Pretty funny.

Progs got their panties all in a wad because they were told an armada was on the way, and it's not.

WAAAAH!....... You promised us an armada! We want an armada...

The assets we need to deal with Jung un are in place. Japan is a huge carrier. The Vinson is not needed. S. Korea has lots of planes.

So gives a crap about some armada?

Good Lord. And the real kicker is that Trump is so thick that he doesn't even realize how stupid it makes him look to recount his ignorance for all the world to see. What an embarrassing time to be an American.

I found it amusing that Trump used a peculiarly antique word- armada- instead of the much more forceful modern term for a carrier group- strike force.

A single modern carrier group has more strike power of an entire WWII attack fleet. With a fraction of the ships and sailors. That's why it came into use. It's a vastly more threatening term than 'armada'. Except to those who don't know anything at all about them.

He probably didn't even know the current term. His use of 'armada' brought up visions of square-riggers and 17th century sea battles with muzzle-loading guns, firing broadsides at each other.

Fun to watch in old movies on TV, but I seriously doubt Old Ironsides will ever go sailing into battle again. Or any of her surviving sisters.
