A MASSIVE surge? Those are hardly upticks over the 5/6 year span.

How do these numbers square with population increase over the same period?

This isn't even getting into the fact that while legal in Colorado, it is an all cash business because of the fed. Who would have thought, companies with HUGE amounts of cash on hand, people having to house this money and occasionally transport it, would be robbed/killed by greedy individuals looking to make a fast buck?!

Remember those two face eaters who everyone said "had" to be on bath salts and it turns out it was all just pot?

"Some people have said, 'Well, it must have been the marijuana that triggered Eugene's behavior.' That, in my opinion, is outrageous, and out of the question. Marijuana will not cause this type of behavior," said Dr. Bruce Goldberger, professor and director of toxicology at the University of Florida.

Goldberger said that although a significant amount of research has found a link between marijuana use and the onset of schizophrenia or psychosis in at-risk individuals, this isn't what happened to Eugene. "This behavior exhibited by Eugene is well beyond the scope of someone suffering from acute psychosis," he told Life's Little Mysteries. [Could Cannibalism Solve a Future Food Shortage?]

Instead, it was probably bath salts.

Miami-Dade Medical Examiner Bruce Hyma, who led the toxicology tests, was able to rule out the presence in Eugene's blood of at least six chemicals commonly found in bath salts, according to news reports.

However, Patrick Kyle, director of clinical chemistry and toxicology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, said Eugene might have taken synthetic, bath salt-type drugs that simply are not yet known or tested for in toxicology labs. With new chemical variants cropping up in the illicit drug market all the time, laboratory standards "cannot keep up," Kyle told Life's Little Mysteries. "I don't believe the laboratory could confidently screen against all bath salt-type drugs."

There are hundreds of synthetic amphetamines (the technical term for the drugs found in bath salts) currently on the streets, Goldberger said, adding, "We may never know what triggered this."

But the bottom line is, pot couldn't have triggered the attack. "Some media is reporting that pot isn't ruled out [as the cause of the attack]," Goldberger said. "I don't buy that. That's like talking about, 'If you take LSD, it stays in your body for a lifetime.' It's one of these misleading things you hear about drugs."

This just the latest in the many robberies, burglaries and drug-related homicides in Colorado.

Amazing, the massive surge in homicides and robberies since the pot shops started infesting the city of Denver.

In 2010, Denver had 33 homicides

In 2016, Denver had 58 homicides

In 2010, Denver had 1,002 robberies

In 2015, Denver had 1,239 robberies

I am all for very controlled medicinal marijuana but it is completely out of control in Colorado.

There are some states that have it legalized at the state level for limited medical conditions which I don't see an issue with.

In Colorado though it is basically a mecca for it. Travelers can't stay in some hotels, the light-rail ridership seems to be weak because of the contact high many people don't want and overall it has caused Colorado to have massive rates of far more serious drug use then other states.

Some of the light rails, hotels and motels reek of marijuana. I have been in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado recently.

Only Las Vegas can compare to Denver when it comes to smelling it in public.

Colorado Springs and Denver also have a massive heroin epidemic due to the states ultra-liberal turn the other way policies towards illicit drugs

If you don't then zip it.

I don't know, but people who think like you do would be a start.

I know it's funny. But actually it's more sad than funny. This person ACTUALLY BELIEVES this, and even worse, there is not a thing in the universe that will change it.

I wonder how this poster even sleeps at night, knowing there are potential face eaters all around?

Way to generalize, all you do is confirm you are against pretty much everybody not exactly like you. Should we assume you don't drink alcohol eat candy, cakes, have recreational sex?
NONE of those really? Not one?

cause if you in fact partake in any pleasurable recreational activity you are in fact doing pretty much the same thing the average toker is doing.

Are there some folk who go over the top, get couch locked nightly , show up late for work, let people down?
Yep and vastly more of those folk are alcoholics than are THC users.

Judging people based on their recreation is pretty lame. weed smokers, don't go out and beat people up they dont shout at their wife or hit the kids. Instead they are more likely to get it on with the wife. laugh with the kids.

Most weed smokers don't get stoned out of their face, just as most people who go to a bar or have a bottle of wine at the weekend don't get mad drunk.
By characterizing THC users as bad all you do is identify yourself as someone who has little experience with any THC users (and yeah i know you know lots etc etc)
