This isn't the 50's anymore. And I know very few millennials who are married. And if they are they are smart enough to know that both incomes are needed to afford housing these days.

I guess so. According to the Census 1/3 of millennials live at home.
I prefer stay at home wives/moms because someone has to take care of the kids while one parent has to work. These days, child care costs are through the roof and you have to worry about a nanny/babysitter being one of those Casey Anthony types.

Some places have a high cost of living and if you miss a pay check, you'd end up homeless. Whereas some places you can have a decent lifestyle with only one income earner. The other parent can work part time if they want.
Just don't live in commiefornia where they take huge chunks of money for taxes and housing prices are insanely high. For 2k/month in commiefornia, you can barely get a dumpy studio apartment with a view of an alley. But in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas you can get a luxury suburban home away from the ghetto filled with drugs, crime, gangs, illegals and trash.
I understand that desire as it was the way I was brought up and its nice to have but increasingly harder to do for some younger people. I was just reading an article that was talking about how so many millennial women were worried they make more money than millennial men, over 1/3 of millennial men are still living at home with their parents!
So much of medicare and baby boomer aging is dependent on younger people and taxes going into the system to support it. Millennials are not making the kind of money baby boomers did at that age

30% of married mothers are full time stay at home moms. Of the remaining 70% that do work, over half work only work part time. One income households aren't as rare or as difficult to achieve as most people make them out to be.

I'd rather pick either Arizona or Texas, both hardcore red states that aren't disappointing like commiefornia. Leaning towards Texas because there's no state income tax, which is a huge plus in my book (because taxation is theft).
