Wow, I don't know what rock you just crawled out from under but equating asking for ID to hire someone with identifying people for future extermination is vile.

I mean seriously, I got asked for ID with my credit card when I was in Las Vegas.....wow....I guess I survived the freakin' death camps.

WTH is wrong with you? Drank too much Brawndo?

Skilled labor has been turned into a commodity by the global economy.
Craftsmanship and pride went out the window years ago, for the lowest price and a breathing body.

I'm in Arizona, and my landscaper is a young white guy. He's kinda expensive, but seeing as how i only need him once a year (after the monsoon), I don't mind.

He's reliable and affable enough.

Are Mexicans and Canadians a lessor group of people when it comes to these chores?

Critical thinking will be difficult here, I know. But one must try...
My, my! But aren't you the condescending one.

What is "inherently better" than a non-American? Nothing is wrong with hiring a "non-American" if that "non-American" is a legal permanent resident. Now, if that "non-American" is an illegal alien, that's a different story.

Illegal aliens have no business being here, let alone working. They undercut American citizens and legal immigrants. It's irrelevant as to how well an illegal does "edging and mowing".

Why should anyone knowingly hire an illegal alien? I, for one, will not hire anyone who isn't licensed, bonded or insured to work on my property. In my state if I hire someone who isn't and that person gets injured on my property, my homeowners' insurance won't cover it. Suddenly that cheap, exploitable, illegal labor isn't so cheap after all, is it?

Why are you defending illegal aliens?

You don't get out much, do you? Come to my part of the country and it is very rare to see an American doing landscaping. Most companies use illegal aliens that they pick up at 7-Eleven or Home Depot. There is one company that uses H2-b visas and is licensed, bonded and insured. However, companies who are in the landscaping business and obey the law are few and far between.

And, yes, most Americans don't want seasonal work and don't live in rural areas. That said, there are kids in the Midwest who spend their summer breaks from school doing farm work as they live in the area where the farms are located.

H2b visas are abused and hurting americans who need jobs in our country.

The original post was condescending and disingenuous. Without migrant labor our economy would collapse, and the OP made a silly post that it no way addresses all the true jobs Americans are not doing. Now do you have a solution to the problem other than "Git em out n build that wall!" ?
