Not only a house. When I bought my cars, I told them I expect to have a room where I can sit and read the contracts. I followed them to the copier too so that the could not switch pages on me. Overly cautios? Maybe, but I was happy to take the time.

Thank you! I read every word of my mortgage documents and asked questions when I was unsure of any wording. Yes it took a lot of time, and I read at a normal pace. I could see the realtor and the loan officer and the title company representative were eager to finish, but so what!? Same with purchase of cars. Same with any contract. Those who don't want to wait around can just find something to do. In addition, I reread anything I've written to make sure it is what I intend. Editing is a B####, but it has to be done.
