Regardless, think it was a classless thing to speculate on, since it was revealed that Erin was suffering from stage 4 cancer and in a lot of pain and suffering.

Scott Baio says the backlash he’s received over “insensitive” comments made about Erin Moran’s death is from liberals “trying to take me down.”

Baio — who spoke at the Republican National Convention and is a big supporter of President Trump — put his foot in his mouth this week after suggesting his former Joanie Loves Chachi co-star’s passing was linked to substance abuse.

“In that interview, I said maybe it was drugs and if it was drugs, drugs and alcohol will kill you sooner than you normally would die,” Baio told TMZ. “All of these goofballs on Twitter started attacking me. I’m sure they’re attacking me because I’m a conservative.”

I felt bad when I heard about her dying. Loved her on Happy Days and the other shows, she seemed like a sweet person. Sorry to learn she had some demons in her later years, hope she has found peace now.

Another " has been" desperately trying to be relevant.

Why did he feel it appropriate to publicly speculate about her cause of death when he was not close enough to know she had stage 4 Cancer?

Goofball.

Yes, Chachi should have kept his yap shut since some who don't read well will take his comments as fact.

Seems he knew she had an addiction problem, to speculate about.

Sorry to hear of Erin's death, I remember her so in love with Chachi on Happy Days. Sad

Baio is totally at fault here.

Maybe because he was asked, and it was well known that she had some issues with drugs and alcohol in the past. I wouldn't have been so honest with my opinion, but no one asks for mine anyway.

I don't really follow celebrities, so I didn't even know until today that she had died. As for Baio's comments, I have a funny feeling that people would be cutting him more slack if he hadn't said so many nasty, hateful things in the past.

Maybe, but we all know celebrities can say all the hateful things they want as long as they're liberal. Just look at the hateful things Alec Baldwin has said.
