Well how else should we pay off that crushing debt we are shackling our children with? Remember when George H.W. Bush raised taxes? Do you even know why he did? It was to offset the write-off for the S&L crisis that came up when he was vice-President to Reagan.

Those tax hikes were needed to pay for new programs, not to pay off any debt.
I agree all tax cuts should be matched by spending cuts.

They aren't being matched though. Trump cut from other programs to expand military spending. Now he wants to make tax cuts both personal and corporate, yet isn't proposing ANY spending cuts in his plan.
No tax cuts until the budget is running a surplus.
Such a simple concept, yet the first thing any politician from either side wants to do is cut taxes. I agree, cut spending first and see where we are before cutting revenue.

There were supposed to be spending cuts to go with the Reagan tax cuts back in the 80's, the politicians all loved the tax cuts but could never seem to agree on spending cuts. That's the main reason we are running deficits to this day, not enough taxes but the answer is always more tax cuts like some weird wheel of fortune.
If you think our deficits are bad now just wait until this tax plan goes through, the insanity continues.
