Why are Liberals so accepting of Islam, yet so quick to attack Conservatives? (Canada, parties)

Honestly, just look at what [Insert any religion in its original form.] says about homosexuality and women, I just don't understand why so many Liberals are so accepting and welcoming of the teachings of [Insert any religion in its original form.], yet are disgusted and violent to just let a Conservative give a speech to their supporters.
Fixed your question.
But religions and political parties are kinda different.
There is a lot more general consensus around religion about the wrong in the books being wrong, and they slip out of mainstream religion
There are no problems with Islam. The problem is with the fanaticism that some members have. All religions have gone through that phase. And even then, it is about a small group within that group that want money and power.
** As a side, the conservative party needs to get over the lgbt and women's rights to abortion, they'd probably see a boost in membership. Growing up they were the party of personal freedom, yet as I age they sure like to tell others how to live. Fiscally, I'm a moderate conservative. It's always their social views that I cannot support.
You people need to get that through your skulls. Just because Joe and Marty are legally married doesn't mean Joe and Sally's marriage is suddenly less valid. Get over yourselves. Again, live and let live.
I agree. I'm not opposed to gay marriage.
Conservatives don't walk in lockstep like Progressives. You people need to get that through your skulls.
Any post about "liberals" is nothing but a troll post, but we'll pretend you want an honest answer to the question.
"Liberals" - progressives - are fine with Islam as a religion, but we are not fine with Muslims - or anyone else - who is intent on bigotry and shoving their religion into law.
Conservatives have made it very clear that bigotry and mixing their warped religious views into government are both key parts of their party platform.
To anyone who's intellectually honest (in other words, not a modern conservative), it's obvious that the modern conservative, hard-right platform is really about the same as the goals of Muslim extremists. The only difference is which holy book is used to justify violence and bigotry.
And that - the fact that modern conservatives are behaving just as badly as any other group of bigots who use religion to justify their actions - is why progressives have no tolerance for them or Muslim extremists, or really any other such group.

But when our children are indoctrinated with the idea that Joe and Marty's "marriage" is just as valid and authentic as Joe and Sally's, that's where the harm occurs. Or that anyone can have two mommies, two daddies, or that such a coupling constitutes a "real" family equal in every way to one with a mother *and* a father.
Muslims raise their children as cannon fodder. Girls are second class property and told who to marry as though the families are still living in the ****-hole sandtrap they immigrated from. Islam is incompatible with modern Western civilization.
And FTR, I'm not Christian. Nor do I follow any other brand of invisible sky friend.
It protects atheists, druids and devil worshipers as well as Christians, Jews and Muslims, because under the Constitution, they are all equal.
And when right-wing extremists can get that fact into their thick skulls - that American is not a "Christian nation" and you don't get to use bible quotes to force bigotry into law - progressives will not hold them in the same level of contempt as they hold other religious extremists, such as ones from the Muslim world.

Why the heck do you care if somebody is accepting of gay marriage or not? I also like the indirect bash on single parents there - classy!
As for the rest, yes, the Muslim world is mostly messed up. And very little of that has anything to do with Islam specifically. Poverty and tyrants can arise anywhere. It wasn't that long ago in the history of the world that most of the Christian world was equally screwed up (while, ironically, the Muslim world was more advanced) - it is the height of hypocrisy to simply pretend that never happened and act as if the modern setup is all that there has ever been, therefore Christianity is wonderful and should be the law of the land, while Islam is evil.
This nonsense is no different than the 2-faced hypocrite descendants of once-hated immigrant groups in this nation demanding for "somebody to do something to keep those dirty foreigners out." No perspective, empathy, understanding of history, or intellectual honesty among them.
Fundamentalist religion does not "live and let live." Fundamentalist religion seeks power and authority over society.
Let 'em seek it all they like. They break laws, we arrest them, they go to jail. They still have a right to believe whatever they like.
