How convenient.
I mean, ya gotta hand it to Spicey. The man will say anything, literally anything, no matter how ridiculous. You can't teach that. It's a natural talent.

Now, I don't think that's entirely fair, but let's get real here: Flynn's actions were apparently well known enough by the prior administration that it issued the warning letter.
Nope. It's entirely the fault of the Trump administration for hiring Flynn as their NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR without doing one bit of work to vet him.

The Obama administration fired him - which everyone knew. Except apparently the smartest guy EVER, Trump.

So what your are saying is that it was the Obama administration's job to issue sufficient security clearance so that when Trump hired him two years after he was fired by Obama, that should be good enough for a role as National Security Advisor to the USA?

No sorry enough with passing the buck. Trumps team should have vetted him and they didn't. They have no documentation at all.

If just once this administration could own up to a few mistakes, the rest of us might have a bit more sympathy, but they are incapable of owning up to anything. They always have to deflect blame.
Never once have they admitted to one mistake. It's laughable to watch Spicey come out every day and twist in the wind for Trump.

Semi-semantics aside, though, this is irrelevant to the previous administration allowing Flynn to maintain a security clearance, even after they found out about his unapproved contacts with the Russians.
The prior administration wasn't hiring him to any position, as has already been explained he maintained his security clearance as a normal course of action since he could be called up.

Trump could clear this up by providing the documents they review in vetting him as NSA director. They are evidently not supplying them to the house but I assume the FBI has access to everything.

Spicer at some point is going to tie himself in a human knot and require surgery.

What's the big deal? Oh I don't know, just a little question of you know, treason and the other little issue that these people were trusted with, you know RUNNING AMERICA.
Other than that, no big deal.

Default The Pentagon is also investigating Michael Flynn

The Pentagon has now joined in with other agencies to investigate if Flynn broke the law by receiving money from a foreign source after retiring from the service, according to a letter written by the Department of Defense's acting inspector general to House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz.

Michael Flynn Is The Subject Of A Pentagon Investigation : The Two-Way : NPR

Oh, what a tangled web... So many foreign sources, so little time, nyet?

So far it seems exceedingly clear he broke the law. He has 2 ways out-1. hope he gets pardoned, and 2- immunity.

So far no one seems to want to offer immunity. Which means they dont see any value in it.

Default Heres why Spicers accusation that Flynn is Obamas fault rings hollow

This Flynn stuff IS sounding worse. Again, either through cover up, or sheer incompetence.

Spicer got up and blamed Obama for Flynn having a security clearance. Some problems:

1. Security clearances are for a specific job and clearance. They dont follow you around after you get fired. So if you have a new position, it is necessary to obtain clearance for that position. So Flynns security clearance from the DIA is NOT valid for a position at the NSA. This indicates that these people literally have no idea how this works, or just assume no one else does. (Some of us do). Getting cleared for a new position does go faster if you have been cleared before, BUT...this happened on Trumps watch. Refusing to release the paperwork on it just makes you look like you are hiding something. Did you disregard the need for a new security clearance investigation? Spicers "But Obama" just doesn't fly. Obama FIRED him, and he needed to be cleared again for the new job.

2. The timeline:
Jan 26th Sally Yates notifies the whitehouse that Flynn lied to the FBI (A crime) . Spicer has stated that Trump was told "immediately"
Feb 9th Washington post reveals Flynn lied. the whitehouse denies the accuracy of the report. At this point Trump knows this is a lie.
Feb 14th WP again reveals that Yates had notified the whitehouse. Flynn resigns

from Jan 26th-Feb 14th trump kept him in office despite knowing he had committed a crime by lying to the FBI, to say nothing of lying to Pence, and whatever was said with the Russians.

Mar 31st: trump tweets out defense of Flynn, and that he is the victim of a witch hunt.

Im sorry, but no. Trumps team is either incompetent, or hiding something. Which one is it? I have no idea.

They're not mutually exclusive.
