If Republicans (who were never on board with The Wall in the first place ) refused to fight for it in this budget, they're never going to....
You might think "it'll be in next year's budget".... Really? In an election year you think the cowardly, weak-kneed, easily frightened Republican establishment is going to risk a fight with the Democrats that could shut the government down?
There's only one hope left for The Wall, and that's if Republicans can gain enough seats in 2018 to get a supermajority, which historically speaking, is unlikely.

I can agree with that. Metro Atlanta is having some major road issues this year. The wall would cost alot of money, money that wouldn't pay for itself for a while. It would be more cost effective to actually enforce our immigration laws. It would be more cost effective to use drones and other means to stop the stream of illegals.
That wall, in my opinion, is just hyperbolae. It isn't really about "keeping illegals out". It is about grandstanding, it's about "let's kick some posterior".

Forget about Liberals, Republicans themselves don't support it. The fiscal Conservatives don't support it because it's costly, and corporate Republicans don't support it because their overlords in business are addicted to the cheap / illegal labor.
Illegal aliens cost the U.S. government far more than a wall will.
Your subject headline is misleading. You imply it was only Liberals who didn't want the wall and then in your first sentence you acknowledge Republicans didn't want the wall either.
So it wasn't Liberals who won -- it wasn't anybody who won really.
It's a ridiculous expenditure.
