If Republicans (who were never on board with The Wall in the first place ) refused to fight for it in this budget, they're never going to....

You might think "it'll be in next year's budget".... Really? In an election year you think the cowardly, weak-kneed, easily frightened Republican establishment is going to risk a fight with the Democrats that could shut the government down?

There's only one hope left for The Wall, and that's if Republicans can gain enough seats in 2018 to get a supermajority, which historically speaking, is unlikely.

The Wall is officially dead. Not gonna happen.

Well it would eventually be used to keep Americans in.

The wall was never going to happen. It was just an attractive sound bite from the Donald to entice those "poorly educated" voters he loves so much to vote for him. Any thinking person can easily see that the money spent on a wall, including its upkeep into the future could be better spent on other ways to secure the border. Far less expensive to hire more border patrol personal and their equipment plus drones and sensors. The rubes are easy prey for simple sounding sound bite solutions for complex problems. As has been demonstrated way too often, the Donald isn't really into critical thinking.

since most illegals dont come here illegally, then the wall wouldnt have actually served the purpose it was being built for.

That argument doesn't hold water. Drug dealers aren't flying their bricks of cocaine here on planes, human traffickers aren't bringing their slaves here on planes either. Nor are they bringing their wares here by any legal means. They're sneaking across an unsecure border.

But, like I said, it doesn't matter. This will continue, because the wall will never be built. Any Trump voter who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves.
