Seems President Trump and his daughter Ivanka have personal reasons for inviting the President of the Philipines. They don't even try to hide it. Why would they -- flaunt it, show it off.....their supporters think that he's a brilliant business man...I'm sure they are thinking that's what the President should do -- make full use of his position to capitalize for his personal business.

Mr. Trump had a “very friendly conversation with Mr. Duterte,” according to a statement issued by the White House late Saturday. It said that the two leaders “discussed the fact that the Philippines is fighting very hard to rid its country of drugs.”
In fact, Mr. Duterte’s war on drugs has resulted in the deaths of several thousand people suspected of using or selling narcotics, as well as others who may have had no involvement with drugs. Human rights groups and many Western governments have condemned Mr. Duterte for the bloody campaign.
Now that Trump is on the outs with Putin, he has to have some other ruthless dictator to be his buddy. If he is able to push through a plan to have Duterte visit the U.S., there will be protests that will dwarf anything seen so far. It could be the one thing that even the Republicans in congress can't stomach and trigger even more of them to become his opponents. It will be entertaining to see how Trump's cult members try to put a spin on it and claim it is in our best interests. The paid Trump shills who post on this forum, will have a hard job, to talk through this one.
Trump's bromance with Duterte is inexplicable. He seems obsessed with dictators.
According to one of the articles linked, Duterte is a communist sympathizer. Between this guy and Putin, who would love nothing more than to restablish the USSR, we've definitely got a lot of fans of red in the Republican Party.
