Apparently the regime is killing funding for the Energy Star program. I have to wonder why.

Companies decry Trump plan to eliminate Energy Star program

Too environmentally friendly for them?

Let manufacturers fund it themselves by paying a fee to submit their products.

Why do taxpayers need to fund it?

I hope not.
I bought a new water heater a month ago, and the Energy Star labels really helped me decide on my choice.

you pay for either way.

I would rather the state set the standards and oversaw the program. Why? because self oversight is no oversight, you well as well get a polar bear to babysit your kids.

The government doesn't need to be involved. Products that save customer's money on their energy bills are very popular.

Yeah!!
You can do that now. And you can do so without wasting a ton of water or electricity.

Don't you have enough actual problems to deal with? Why the need to invent fictional ones? Is it just so you can meet your outrage quota for the day?

The program set this all in motion. It isn't companies lying about their own products. The products are rigorously assessed. The consumer can see by the labeling exactly what they are getting, no confusing advertising claims to have to wade through.

End the program, and the labeling goes away, then it doesn't matter how popular energy saving appliances are, you will not know what you are really buying.

Which could be what is so attractive to a swindler like Mr Trump.

Caveat Emptor!

The big manufacturers like this vetting system because it does matter. It's a great incentive for R&D and for PR for appliances that meet the standards.

It's been a win-win for everyone. The CORPORATIONS even agree.

So o course Trump wants to cancel it. Idiot.
