I don't think he was joking. Since most American's don't make things anymore, they have no idea how soul draining those jobs are. They think nothing of the workers. The purpose of jobs is to create goods and services. If we just want jobs we can pay people to dig holes and others to fill them up.

This is an old hoax. That said, I go out of my way not to buy stuff made in China, they are not our friends.
