Sure.
A tense peace is still better than none at all.
We have the means to stop Baby Kim if we have to that are short of war, and we will use them if we must. That allows us to out-wait Baby Kim, and sooner or later, he will either flee or die and some junior officer in his army will take his place. The next guy will chill out and seek other ways to get North Korea what it needs.
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Yong Un is done in by a poison pellet or something the Chinese borrow from the Russians to get him dead. He's trying way too hard to be a threat to them as much as a threat to us.
It might be stupid; but it also might be the only intelligent way to deal with them. Until we do hold talks it would be difficult to say how they would turn out. Hopefully they would turn out better than our Iranian talks.
But I, like you, am skeptical of any deal that could be cut with that ruthless military leader.

Whatever Trump says or does won't be good enough the media and others will say he should do the exact opposite of whatever he did. Then when you ask them what they think he should do. They don't answer the question because they don't want to throw down the gauntlet and have to take a stance. There is nothing the US can do about them really so Trump is playing it smart and not poking the crazy bear.
Cant happen until someone in the military eliminates the little crazy guy. Once a reasonably stable dictatorship... okay.
