I guess I'll have to disagree. Better to let them go a little hungry than feed them the above.
The choice is WG corn dog or not WG corndog. Yes the WG chicken corn dog is healthier than the regular ol' corn dog.
But do you think in the greater scheme of things that lunch of WG corndogs that a lot of kids wont eat is going to impact their overall nutrition and health provided their regular diet does not consist of all whole grains?
They skip lunch and go home hungry and devour worse junk food because they cant wait until dinner.

They'll eat lunch if they are hungry. They won't starve. A kid won't know the difference between bread or pasta made of whole grain or refined wheat for lunch unless someone else tells them the difference.
School lunches were crap when my kids were in school. Fat, sodium and sugar. They took their lunch as I would not permit them to each what the school served.
All these people griping about throwing away the lunches probably feed their kids breakfast cereal, too.
Ever read the label on that chit? You would be better off giving your kid a Snicker's bar.
Oh, for Pete's sake, there have been kids who hated school lunches for as long as there have BEEN school lunches. There were some I absolutely detested, the worst being greenish hot dogs wrapped in a greasy roll and called "pigs in a blanket." They were vile, and I would not eat them. I wouldn't eat canned spinach, either. Those were the only two items I utterly refused. Other than that, if I was hungry, I ate my lunch.
I've seen pictures of the new meals, and most of them look pretty good to me, and certainly no worse than some of the stuff that was served up when I was a kid.
I also have to wonder how many of these people crying about the new school lunch guidelines say, at home, to their own children, if you are hungry enough, you will eat it. I don't think children should be forced to eat anything they truly don't like, but I do think they should be encouraged to try new things, and I also wonder how much of a double standard there is here, when some folks expect their kids to be members of the "clean plate club" at home, but not in the cafeteria.
Wonder if they'll start serving beer in high school then, if they're going by student requests.
Liberal mindset!
The world exists only of absolutes and extremes, no judgement allowed, no middle ground, no possible alternatives except extremes.
Compliments of the great slippery slope, the libs pet monster that says if a kid chews a pop tart into the shape of a gun he is guaranteed to be an adult sociopath and killer. the slippery slope is otherwise known as wearing a tin foil hat.
