It is often said that 40% of illegals are visa overstays. I am not so sure about that because the Dems so willingly throw the number around. In any case, without a police state, it is very difficult to track people once they are in the country. How do you enforce visitor visas? Is there an app for it?

We need to do what Canada's Policy is. If you are in Canada you have to report to the local PD and Check in to ensure the terms and conditions of your stay is being compiled with.

Being caught in Mexico illegally can get you a year in jail and then you get deported.

Get caught the second time and it is 10 years.

Those are strong incentives. We need to learn from them.

Most of the time they don't get noticed, unless they start trying to work legally (i.e. applying for a SSN etc.) or try to leave the country.

To make it even tougher to catch illegal overstays they are probably equipped with some very modern high end id =https://results.searchlock.com/searc...le&chnm=js_270

Attach a bond to it and let the bounty hunters find them.

We need to create incentives for local police departments to enforce the law. Give them 1K for every illegal they catch and turn over to ICE.

There used to be a requirement for aliens in this country to report their address to the State Department annually. In January 1963 I saw TV commercials saying aliens must report every January. (I do not remember anything on TV before that year, and never saw that commercial in later years.)

I assume that reporting requirement was a way to track aliens on an annual basis at least.

Make the penalties reciprocal with that of the nationality of the illegal.
