If a woman was raped and sought treatment for her injuries including PTSD, it's considered a pre-existing condition.

Prior to the ACA, 35 states did not cover pre-existing conditions except in high risk pools. Many states used exclusion periods and elimination riders to avoid paying coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. The list of pre-existing conditions does depend on the particular insurer, but PTSD is sure to be one of them.

I am a supporter of Medicare-for-all which eliminates this type of horror show, but at least Obamacare made this illegal ANYWHERE in the country.

Trumpcare DOES open up for rape to be a pre-existing condition whether you like it or not.

The term "access" also doesnt mean getting healthcare! Its a favorite phrase used by people to confuse people into thinking they can get healthcare if they just get "access to healthcare". People with pre-existing conditions will suffer enormously as a result of this disastrous Trumpcare bill and many will of course die.
It is the Republican's way of culling the herd of undesirables.

Headline reads like fake news, I'd give this an 8 of 10 chance of being fake news.

Did you READ the article?!

Nowhere does it say these things will come to pass.
Just speculation and fear-mongering.

I hated the ACA.
I hate the ACHA or whatever crap thing they plan on calling this new monstrosity.

But what I hate more is intellectually dishonest fear-mongering stupidity that just riles people up without actually presenting any concrete facts of what is to come.
Whether it's democrat or republican.

It's useless and irresponsible.
I read the article. Your Texas education has failed your reading comprehension. This has already come to pass, and there's risk of it happening again when States are allowed to opt-out of pre-existing conditions protections.

My guess is they'll also push for exchanging coverage across State lines so most of your insurance companies will HQ in States that don't have these protections and will undercut more expensive insurers from States that do have to cover pre-existing conditions.

Before Obamacare, some insurance companies considered rape and domestic abuse pre-existing conditions. One woman, Jody Neal-Post, says she was turned away after telling a potential insurance that she was a domestic violence victim – despite otherwise being perfectly healthy.
