Compromise? Show me Republican compromise. Nothing but "no" from them.
So this is the best they have to offer?

Many articles have been written about the bill but the content at this time is speculation. You can get really upset reading the details of the bill if you believe they are written in stone. However, many people believe the bill will be negotiated and changed before it is finalized and approved by the senate. Dave, You have said many times you don't want to hear that.

Here is 27 page report written for the Foundation for Government Accountability regarding the High Risk Pool

You can think of it like SS. You pay into the system now and collect when you get older.

It's obviously they don't think like that. The young people.

Obama and the Democrats took away freedom of choice from the people. President Trump and the Republicans are trying to give it back.
Obamacare also raised cost to the employer's plan. Even with all that and it's still failure. Only works for a handful of people.

Sounds like another great idea brought to us my generation gimmie (Boomers). No motivation to make the big welfare programs (Social Security & Medicare) solvent in the long-term as they just figure they'll be dead and it's their kids' problem to fix.

We pay for the sins of our fathers. That is how it's always been.

I have always thought of SS as an insurance or entitlement program. You work and pay into it your working life and you get some of the money back to live on when you no longer work. You are not taking from someone else. How is it a welfare program?

#1 By drastically increasing the cost of health care Americans will finally react by forcing change...

....Reduce drug company profit

....Use drugs based on effectiveness not highest price

....Attack trial lawyers who make giant profits

....Change laws regarding malpractice

....Eliminate private rooms and go with wards

....Increase number of teaching institutions

....Flood market with new nurses and doctors

....Increase immigration nurses and doctors

....Shop abroad for health care

#2 Americans will finally connect personal choices with the cost of health care:

....Reduce weight

....Increase exercise

....Reduce cigarettes and drink

....Limit sun exposure

....Reduce fat and sugar intake

....Reduce high risk sexual practices

#3 AHCA will kill off high cost patients faster than ACA.

....High cost patients will find it more difficult to find care

....Doctors less likely to aggressively treat

....Repeat procedures less likely

$$$$$$$$$$$$%$

Bottom line

Total health care bill for all Americans will drop.

High health care cost is one specific reason I left the USA and live in an extremely low health care cost country. Further, I still weigh 165 lbs, the same as I did when 17yo, I go to the gym, never smoke, never drink, and walk to the store.
