I am a lib but I am in no way happy with the ACA. The right somehow does not realize that we pay the same high costs for our medical coverage as they do. So I am open to the idea of a new plan but I'm not so sure I or anyone else really understands this new proposal.

I am 58, my wife has chronic back and other pre-existing conditions. We are hardly alone, many of you are in the same position. So please help me understand how I should be excited at the possibility of much higher costs for health care for us moving forward?

I'm dead serious here, if I'm wrong and it's a good plan for seniors I'm thrilled.

It's not good for those of us in the 50-64 age group, even for the few who might have no preexisting conditions. There is no way to sell the massive increases in this age group as a positive. None.

Get the government out of the revenue stream of health care if you want prices to come down. There are entities who do not deal with the government, and their prices are very reasonable.

As long as government remains in the revenue stream, health care will be a cluster...

Our premiums are already through the roof with the ACA and it looks like that trend will continue with the New Health Care Bill.

The preexisting condition clause is interesting because one of the articles states only 8-9 medical conditions fall under that category but the next sentence states the insurance company can move anyone into the high risk plan based on preexisting. If you have continuous coverage preexisting might not be a concern.

The bad part is that insurance companies will be in control of everything now. Premiums, benefit coverage, and determining preexisting. I do not think insurance companies will have strict evidence of insurability control of preexisting conditions like they had in the 80's and 90's.

However, I am trying to be optimistic that many provisions will be added and changed before the entire bill is passed. When the dust settles I think the plan will look much better than it does today.

A trillion dollar tax cut for the rich.

Those over 50, with a pre-existing condition, sick, and the low-income come out on the short end of the stick.

It's going to suck slightly less than Obamacare.

50+ should be allowed to buy into Medicare.

So if you have no disqualifying pre-existing conditions, and are not sick, you can get health insurance on the open market, correct?

Conceivably, if one were healthy enough, in some states one could get insurance that would not cover mental health care, birth control, maternity care, hospitalizations,... Correct?

What will happen is we'll see surgery only policies again. High profit, low coverage and low cost policies that essentially cover very little to nothing.

Stupid people that buy things based on payment plans will flock to them and when they need care they'll complain how they have health coverage but it doesn't cover anything.

There is nothing good about this bill. It also isn't likely to ever become law. Nothing more than politics.
