The representative (and I use that term loosely) made this declaration at a town hall. This is how out of touch, willfully ignorant, callous and detached from their constituents the GOP has become.

GOP rep: "Nobody dies because they don't have access to healthcare"

GOP promised to cover preexisting conditions and promptly removed the broken promise from their website. Trumpcare is such a dumpster fire for the vast majority of the population that the senate refuses to use it as a baseline.

Let's take away his health insurance and deny him access to healthcare. Then we'll talk.

His constituents gave him an earful for that ignorant statement. In red, red Idaho, no less. If the GOP can't sell their POS in the reddest of the red states, they are truly f*cked.

The ACA provided INSURANCE not healthcare.

It was insurance that the poor couldn't pay the premiums on much less the deductibles.

Nobody is denied care when they are in a life and death situation. The left needs to stop with the scare tactics.

Healthcare is unaffordable in this country without insurance. Healthcare is the locked door to quality of life, insurance is the key.

The average cost of an appendectomy without insurance is $33,000.

Most of us require preventative care to avoid emergent, potentially irreversible health crises. Many need care for preexisting conditions through no fault of their own. No insurance = no healthcare, certain death, reduced, quality of life or bankruptcy. In this country there is no separation of the two.

There is no justification for this slapdash gutted "insurance" that is Trumpcare.

But...just as an idea, isn't it pretty dire when it's life and death....and people die. If it hadn't been allowed to escalate to that point, the person might not have gotten so sick.

Scare tactics. If you need an emergency appendectomy, they do it... and you go on a monthly payment plan to pay. A few hundred a month. A hospital puts in a claim for 33,000 to insurance company. .. the hospital doesn't get that much... not even close.

Stop the nonsense. People are denied life saving care and medicine all the time because they cant afford it. Life and death situation isnt simply some traffic accident and being rushed to the ER to get stabilized.

Pre-existing conditions are back. And they are back with a vengeance.

But that average cost was 33k with no insurance. All passed on to the patient unless it's waived, taken care of by charity funds, etc. How many people can afford an extra few hundreds a month? What if you end up needing more than one expensive medical procedure?

Do you consider cancer a life and death situation? If you have no insurance, you will receive no treatment. And you're dead. Seems pretty life and death to me.
